Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Educator to join our childcare team based next to the Headingley Train Station.
The successful candidate must be LEVEL 3 QUALIFIED and will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental milestones through engaging activities and personalised care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills within a dynamic early childhood education setting.
Duties
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development
- Supervise and support children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods
- Maintain a safe and clean environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication
- Monitor individual progress and provide feedback to parents during regular meetings
- Assist with the organisation of daily routines and special events within the nursery or childcare setting
- Support new staff or interns through mentoring and guidance to ensure high standards of childcare are maintained
Skills
- Proven experience with children, preferably within nursery or early childhood education environments
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Knowledge of EYFS and early childhood development principles, and nursery practices
- Organisational skills to plan activities efficiently whilst managing multiple responsibilities
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach towards young children
