We wish to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and dedicated Apprentice Specialist Teaching Assistant to join the team within our inclusive and friendly school. The post is an apprenticeship post, and the successful candidate will be supported in working towards a Level 5 qualification.
Your learning journey will take place within our nurturing, inclusive and forward-thinking primary school where training and professional development is highly valued.
Under the guidance of the Pastoral Lead and SENDco, you will be trained to play a vital role in supporting and developing the emotional and social wellbeing of pupils in school. Your role will involve offering support, guidance, mentoring and practical help to individual children facing personal or academic difficulties. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create and sustain a nurturing environment, helping to address personal barriers such as social skills, attendance, mental health, or family problems. You may also lead group sessions, deliver workshops and interventions, and signpost to specialist support services when needed. This role requires excellent communication and empathy skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to handle sensitive situations confidentially.
There is no guarantee of a role at the end of this apprenticeship, but training and support will be given alongside attending college to gain the qualification.
Key Apprenticeship Points:

- 20% of the apprentices time will be spent doing off the job training. Essentially this is one day per week where the candidate cannot do their job role and must complete tasks to do with their apprenticeship (coursework, exams, time with tutor etc). The remaining other 4 days a week they will work their job as normal.
- The duration for the apprenticeship will be 24 months.
- The apprentice will have an identified mentor in school. Other support will be offered by the training provider.

Essential Qualifications
- We require either evidence of GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent), or the candidate must be willing to achieve these qualifications during the apprenticeship.
