Qualified Electrician & Lighting Controls Technician – KNX (Luxury Hotel Development)
Location: Admiralty Arch, Central London
Contract Length: 4 Weeks (Initially) – Immediate Start
Rate: up to £450.00 per day – for 12 hours – 7 days a week including weekends available. (Dependant on experience and technical proficiency)
Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Qualified Electrician & Lighting Controls Technician with proven KNX experience to join the team on the prestigious Admiralty Arch luxury hotel development in central London. This project demands the highest standards of technical excellence and an uncompromising eye for detail to ensure the quality, safety and functionality of a world-class hospitality environment.
This role is critical to the installation, commissioning and final handover of the lighting controls package. Candidates must demonstrate a "right first time" mentality and a deep respect for the architectural finishes of a Grade I listed luxury environment.
Responsibilities:
- KNX installation & second fix: Install, terminate and dress KNX lighting control devices, actuators, sensors and keypads across guest suites, high-end communal areas and back-of-house plant spaces to an exemplary standard.
- Commissioning support: Support the commissioning of KNX lighting control systems, including DALI interfaces, point-to-point testing, device addressing and fault rectification alongside our commissioning engineers.
- Testing & verification: Carry out continuity, polarity and functional testing of lighting control circuits and KNX bus wiring, accurately documenting results.
- Fault finding: Identify, document and rectify any deviations or defects within the lighting controls installation, including KNX bus and DALI line faults.
- Quality & compliance: Ensure all works meet BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), KNX best practice and the specific luxury project specifications.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the project management team and specialist MEP contractors to maintain the development schedule without compromising on quality.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Qualifications: Fully qualified electrician – NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds 2365 (or equivalent) with AM2, plus 18th Edition (BS 7671).
- Certification: Gold JIB/ECS card holder. KNX Partner certification (KNX Basic Course) highly desirable.
- Experience: Proven track record installing and supporting KNX lighting control systems on luxury high-end projects (e.g. 5-star hotels, high-end residential or Grade I/II listed refurbishments).
- Technical knowledge: Strong working knowledge of KNX topology, bus wiring and DALI lighting control integration; familiarity with high specification control environments (e.g. Crestron, Lutron, Schneider) an advantage.
- Professionalism: Exceptional communication skills and a polished approach suitable for a premium development site.
Pay: Up to £450.00 per day
