TP Fire & Security Ltd, a BAFE accredited industry leading provider of Fire Protection and Security systems who have been established for over 30 years, are looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer who specialises in fire alarms and has experience of working to the British Standards & BAFE standards. ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to carry out routine servicing, testing, inspection, repairs and installation of Fire Alarms and Emergency Lighting in accordance with the relevant standards.
- Plan and organise own work schedule to ensure that it is carried out in an efficient and organised way, whilst delivering a high level of quality customer service.
- Demonstrate systems for customers and explain details such as the causes and effects & consequences of false alarms.
- Complete all relevant documentation and records, in an accurate and timely manner to the required standards including instructions, timesheets, work reports, service reports, expense claims and vehicle safety checks.
- Take an active part in the call out rota as required, to maintain a reliable and responsive out of hour’s service for customers.
- Share technical and problem solving ability skills and knowledge with colleagues an maintain good relationships within the team.
- Comply with all company SHEQ procedures and complete all necessary Health & Safety training.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment provided by the company as required and to take care of and request replacement equipment as needed.
- Project a high level of quality customer services at all times
- The reactive and preventative maintenance of fire & security systems
- Maintaining/developing good relations with clients and colleagues.
- Taking an active part in the on-call system.
- Ability to diagnose faults and propose solutions without supervision
- Must be competent in IT related products for Security and Communication devices and Computer literate in MS Office suite (preferably Word & Excel)
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- FIA BS5839 Fire Alarm accreditation's highly advantageous (Specifically FIA 1 & 5)
- Knowledge of various Fire Alarm systems such as Advanced, Kentec, Gent, Morley, C-tec etc.
- An electronics qualification and knowledge of security would be an advantage.
- Needs an in-depth knowledge of numerous Fire Alarm addressable and related systems.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Permit to work in the UK (foreign National)
- Must have a full, clean driving licence
- An ECS or CSCS card is desirable
- Must be self-motivated, well presented and have diligent work ethic as working remotely from the office
- Must be able to satisfy vetting to BS7858 and Enhanced DBS checks will be required for this role
