The Role:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out painting and decorating works across React Support Services' properties to ensure our services provide a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment for our individuals, staff and visitors.
You will work across our supported living and residential services across Cardiff, Newport and RCT completing both planned and reactive decorating works to maintain high standards of presentation. As React continues to grow, you will also play an important role in preparing and decorating newly acquired services and refurbishment projects.
Day-to-Day Tasks Include:
- Internal and external painting of residential and commercial properties.
- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling and priming before decorating.
- Applying paint, varnish, stain and other finishes using brushes, rollers and spray equipment where appropriate.
- Hanging wallpaper and carrying out decorative finishes where required.
- Repairing damaged walls, ceilings and woodwork prior to decorating.
- Colour matching and ensuring high-quality finishes throughout all works.
- Protecting furniture, flooring and fixtures before commencing work and ensuring work areas are left clean and tidy.
- Reporting maintenance issues identified during decorating works to the Maintenance Manager.
- Supporting refurbishment and renovation projects across new and existing services.
- Working safely in accordance with health and safety policies and COSHH regulations.
- Maintaining company tools, equipment and materials in good working order.
Requirements:
- Satisfactory references and a clean DBS check.
- Attend company induction.
- Proven experience in painting and decorating.
- Good knowledge of surface preparation and decorating techniques.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple sites.
- High attention to detail with pride in delivering quality workmanship.
- Full UK Driver's Licence, travel required across all services.
