This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team which leads on developing and delivering Preston City Council’s commitment to inclusive and local development (the Preston Model, also known as Community Wealth Building) as well as the council’s commitments on climate action, biodiversity and other strategic and corporate priorities. In the lead up to Local Government Reorganisation (LGR), you will play a key role in positioning inclusive and local development and action on climate change and nature as core design principles for the new authority. This will ensure that local authority functions across procurement, planning, regeneration, housing, employment support and financial inclusion are anchored in a commitment to an inclusive economy, focused on reducing poverty and increasing resilience to climate change.
We are looking for a fast-thinking and experienced individual to help us deliver and scale up the ambition of Preston’s strategic commitments during a period of significant organisational change. You will be educated to degree level with previous experience in policy and/or project development and delivery roles. You will be a confident researcher, skilled at using data effectively and a good communicator. As a self-motivated and engaging team member, you will be willing to take the initiative and will have the confidence to influence decision making.
If this sounds like you, please apply!
