Experienced Housekeeper – High-End Holiday Let
We are looking for an experienced, reliable and detail-focused Housekeeper to take responsibility for the cleaning, presentation and preparation of a high-end holiday let.
This is a guest-facing property where presentation is extremely important. We are looking for someone who understands the standards expected within quality holiday accommodation and takes genuine pride in leaving a property immaculate, welcoming and ready for every arrival.
Previous professional housekeeping experience is essential.
The Role
You will be responsible for preparing the property between guest stays, ensuring every room is cleaned and presented to an excellent standard.
Working hours are generally between 10:00am and 4:00pm on changeover days. There is flexibility around what time you begin, provided the property is completely finished, checked and ready for guests by 4:00pm.
The property forms part of a wider hospitality and accommodation group, which includes a hotel and two additional houses located less than one mile away. From time to time, you may also be asked to provide housekeeping support at these locations.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning and preparing the entire property between guest stays.
- Making beds and presenting bedrooms to a high standard.
- Cleaning bathrooms, kitchens and living areas thoroughly.
- Vacuuming, mopping, dusting and general housekeeping.
- Ensuring the property is beautifully presented before every arrival.
- Creating towel swans, towel animals and other decorative towel displays for guests.
- Replenishing toiletries, cleaning products and guest supplies.
- Keeping an accurate eye on housekeeping stock and letting management know before supplies begin to run low.
- Reporting any damage, breakages, missing items or maintenance concerns immediately.
- Identifying areas that require additional or deep cleaning.
- Carrying out a final check of the property before leaving.
- Communicating clearly with management regarding the condition and readiness of the property.
Laundry
Laundry is to be completed away from the property.
You will be expected to take used bedding and towels away to be washed, dried and returned ready for future changeovers. This can be completed at your own home or through a laundrette, depending on your preference.
Laundry is paid separately in addition to your housekeeping pay.
What We’re Looking For
You must have previous housekeeping experience, ideally within hotels, serviced accommodation, holiday lets or other high-standard hospitality environments.
You will also need:
- An exceptional eye for detail.
- A strong understanding of professional housekeeping standards.
- Experience creating towel swans or other towel animals.
- High standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Reliability and good timekeeping.
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- The confidence to identify and report problems rather than simply working around them.
- A proactive approach to stock management and property presentation.
- A friendly, trustworthy and professional attitude.
- Flexibility to work around guest arrivals and departures.
- A good degree of physical fitness and mobility, as the role involves making beds, bending, lifting linen and supplies, vacuuming, mopping and being on your feet throughout a changeover.
Progression & Pay
We value people who are dependable, maintain consistently high standards and take ownership of their work.
Performance-based pay rises are guaranteed, giving you the opportunity to increase your rate as you demonstrate reliability, quality and consistently excellent housekeeping standards.
This would suit someone who genuinely enjoys housekeeping, notices the small details others miss and takes pride in walking out of a property knowing that it is completely ready for the next guest.
Pay: £12.80 per hour
