Overview
We are seeking a skilled Furniture Spray Painter specialising in Veneer finishing to join our manufacturing team. This role involves applying high-quality finishes to veneered cabinets, ensuring a flawless surface that meets our standards of excellence. The ideal candidate will have experience in spray painting, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of veneer application techniques. This position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment dedicated to craftsmanship and precision.
Responsibilities
- Prepare veneered surfaces by sanding, masking, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Preparation, spraying, and repair of veneered panels — standard and luxury grades
- Utilise hand tools and power tools for surface preparation and finishing tasks.
- Staining veneer to achieve specific colours and finishes, matching samples and specifications accurately
- Identifying and repairing veneer defects, blemishes, and damage to a high standard
- Maintaining consistent quality and finish across batches and repeat orders
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure colour consistency and surface smoothness.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Assist with fabrication and assembly processes as needed, supporting overall production flow.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 10 years' experience in furniture spray painting
- Proven experience spraying and repairing veneered panels, including luxury veneers
- Strong staining skills, with the ability to colour-match and achieve specific tones/finishes
- Experience using AC lacquer with pump spray systems
- A meticulous, quality-focused approach to finishing work
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Good understanding of spray booth safety and equipment care
