Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Front of House Supervisor to oversee daily operations, working alongside and deputising for the Food & Beverage Manager, within Salt, the vibrant Cafe at Lichfield Cathedral. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising front-of-house staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and service. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion for hospitality and team leadership to contribute to a welcoming and efficient establishment.
You will work 35 hours per week on a rota system over 5 days per week, which includes weekend work (with a min of 1 in 4 weekends off)
Salt is open to the public Mon-Sat 08.30-16.30hrs & Sun 11.30-16.30hrs.

Duties
- Supervise and coordinate front-of-house team members, including serving staff and hosts, ensuring smooth service delivery.
- To deputise for the Food & Beverage Manager in a Front of House capacity and for functions and corporate hospitality.
- To oversee cashing up and daily reporting, ensuring all discrepancies are recorded and reported to the F&B Manager
- To ensure the highest levels of customer service. Handling customer queries and resolving customer complaints
- Train staff and brief staff on daily tasks/functions
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness and presentation in the front of house areas
- Ensure high standards of presentation in staff and food/beverages
- Monitor stock levels of service supplies and organise replenishments as necessary
- Assist with the creation and management of menu choices within the EPOS system
- Locking up/opening up & key holder duties
- Efficient working practice in all areas of responsibility
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead diverse teams.
- Knowledge of culinary practices, food safety standards, and food production processes.
- Experience in kitchen is highly desirable.
- Barista experience and training is essential
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Leadership qualities combined with a friendly demeanour to foster a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and customers alike.
- Ability to work weekends
- Ability to cope under pressure
