Job Title: Tenant Liaison Officer/Maintenance Operative
Job Purpose
To provide a professional, customer-focused reception and administrative service across Corby Enterprise Centre and Corby Innovation Hub. The postholder will be responsible for supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of both centres, acting as the first point of contact for visitors, tenants, contractors, and stakeholders while ensuring high standards of administration, customer service, and facilities support.
Key Responsibilities
Reception and Customer Service

Meet and greet visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.

Respond to enquiries and direct visitors to the appropriate departments, meeting rooms, or tenants.

Answer incoming telephone calls and manage general enquiries effectively.

Maintain visitor sign-in procedures and ensure building security protocols are followed.
Tenant and Stakeholder Support

Liaise with North Northamptonshire Council colleagues and internal tenants regarding meeting room and catering bookings.

Coordinate with external tenants and partner organisations regarding meetings, visitors, and events.

Arrange and conduct viewings of the Business Centre for prospective tenants.

Complete inductions for new tenants, including access arrangements and centre orientation.

Organise and manage the issue of keys, access fobs, and related documentation.

Verify identification documents and coordinate trade reference and credit checks for potential tenants.

Liaise with external IT support providers to arrange new tenant IT setup requirements.
Administration

Undertake a variety of general administrative duties including:

Data entry

Filing and record maintenance

Photocopying and scanning

Document preparation

Post management

Use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and bespoke systems to maintain accurate records and information.

Ensure all administrative processes are completed accurately and within required timescales.
Facilities and Operations Support

Liaise with contractors regarding maintenance and operational requirements.

Raise purchase orders and process invoices in accordance with organisational procedures.
-
Support the smooth operation of the centres and report any building issues as required.

Assist with opening and closing procedures, including alarm control and security checks.
General Duties

Handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately and in line with GDPR requirements.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, tenants, contractors, and visitors.

Support centre events and activities when required.

Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by management.
Essential Experience
-
Previous experience in a reception, administration, or customer service role.

Experience working in a busy office environment.
-
Experience dealing with members of the public and multiple stakeholders.

Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.

Experience using Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Experience maintaining accurate records and databases.
Desirable Experience

Experience working in a business centre, serviced office, local authority, or public sector environment.

Experience coordinating room bookings, events, or facilities management activities.

Experience raising purchase orders and processing invoices.

Experience using bespoke databases or management information systems.
Qualifications
Essential

GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics.

Good standard of education with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable

NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Business Administration, Customer Service, or a related field.

Additional Information
Pay Rate: £17.91 per hour (Umbrella) / £14.13 per hour (PAYE)

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Work Pattern: Flexible start and finish times, generally between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Location: Corby Enterprise Centre and Corby Innovation Hub. The successful candidate must be able to work across both locations.

Contract Length: 12 weeks initially, with the potential for extension.

Start Date: ASAP.

This is a varied role requiring excellent customer service, organisational skills, and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders.

The postholder must be comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information and working independently in a busy office environment.
