An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Procurement Team to oversee our Engineering Stores to ensure good stock management and procurement of essential engineering parts.
We are looking for an ambitious, organised and commercially minded individual who wants to build a career in Procurement and Supply Chain. Whether you are a recent graduate or have experience in manufacturing, engineering, logistics, stores, or purchasing, this role offers the opportunity to develop your skills while taking ownership of an important business function.
This is a key role which will contribute to maintaining a culture of cost control, stock optimization and efficiency across all sectors of the business.
Summary of responsibilities:
- Engaging with Engineering and Production Teams to ensure the right parts and stock numbers are maintained.
- Support Procurement Team to ensure a robust buying activity (right suppliers, right prices, right stocks, right contracts).
- Ensure Engineering Stores are always kept organised and tidy and parts are available.
- Ensure good stock management of other consumables (PPE, etc.).
- Raising orders and booking in stock.
- Supporting Procurement Team on day-to-day activities (raw materials, transport, packaging, waste, etc.).
- Investigate stock discrepancies and reconcile physical quantities and locations against ERP records.
- Working closely with suppliers to explore stock agreements, consignment arrangements and other solutions that reduce stockholding without compromising engineering service levels.
- Produce clear inventory information and recommendations for the Procurement and Engineering Teams.
- Driving forklift truck to move heavy loads around the site.
- Maintaining and creating complex excel spreadsheets.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven knowledge of engineering parts and tools.
- A counterbalance forklift license.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly on all levels both verbally and in writing.
- Good numerical and analytical ability.
- High energy and urgency to problem solving and decision making.
- High attention to detail.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Plus, ability and willingness to learn and use an ERP system.
Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
