The Role
As Head of Business, you will be responsible for leading all areas of the dealership operation, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, outstanding financial performance, and a highly engaged workforce. You will work closely with the leadership team to deliver our strategic objectives while maintaining the values and reputation that have made West Riding Hyundai & Kia a trusted name in the northwest region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the entire dealership operation to maximise performance, deliver results and achieve business objectives.
- Develop and execute strategic plans that support sustainable growth, profitability and long-term success.
- Safeguard the business, franchise partnerships and reputation of West Riding.
- Act as an ambassador for the West Riding brand, Hyundai and Kia, promoting brand values and inspiring others to do the same.
- Drive employee engagement, performance and development across all departments.
- Manage the financial health of the business, ensuring key performance indicators, profitability and operational targets are achieved.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, manufacturer partners, suppliers and other key stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, continuous improvement and excellence.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in a senior automotive retail leadership role, ideally as a Head of Business, General Manager, Dealer Principal, Head of Operations or equivalent.
- Strong leadership capability, with the ability to adapt your management style through coaching, directing, supporting, delegating and motivating teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage effectively at all levels.
- High emotional intelligence, self-awareness and people-management skills.
- Ability to create a positive, productive and customer-focused culture.
- Passion for developing people and building high-performing teams.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including a thorough understanding of revenue growth, profitability, stock management, cash flow and departmental KPIs.
- Experience interpreting management accounts and using performance data to drive business decisions.
- Strong understanding of automotive retail operations, including sales, aftersales and customer experience.
- Computer literate with proficiency across standard business systems and automotive retail platforms.
- A forward-thinking mindset with enthusiasm for the rapidly evolving automotive industry, including electric and hybrid vehicle technologies.
