Job Description: Housekeeper

We are a family-run, independent hotel looking for a reliable, hardworking, and friendly Housekeeper to join our team. Our hotel is a modern, no-frills, technology-led property with 41 newly refurbished rooms finished to a high standard. We pride ourselves on maintaining a welcoming, professional atmosphere for both guests and staff, and we’re looking for a Housekeeper who shares these values. The start and finish times may vary but are usually 10am - 3pm 5 or 6 days per week.
About the Role:
As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for ensuring our rooms and public areas are clean, tidy, and well-presented to meet the high standards we expect for our guests. Your duties will include:
- Cleaning and maintaining guest rooms to a high standard.
- Undertaking deep cleaning tasks throughout the hotel as needed.
- Ensuring all areas of the hotel, including public spaces, are clean and well-kept.
- Interacting with guests in a polite and friendly manner, always ensuring they feel welcome.
- Supporting the team by helping out in the pub when needed to maintain continuity, especially during busy times or staff absences.
- Adhering to all health and safety guidelines while carrying out cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Following instructions from the management team, respecting authority, and working well with others to achieve the hotel's goals.
Key Requirements:
- Must be able to speak, read, and write good English.
- Previous housekeeping experience is required.
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Friendly, approachable, and polite when interacting with guests and team members.
- Must be physically fit and able to carry out tasks in a building with no lifts (four-storey building).
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Hardworking, reliable, and committed to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness at all times.
- Flexibility to assist in the pub or take on additional tasks when necessary.
- Must be respectful of managers and follow instructions clearly and efficiently.
