About the role and team
Mole Valley District Council is looking for a Civil Enforcement Officer to join our Parking Team.
As a Civil Enforcement Officer you will enforce the Council's car parks ensuring customers are parked correctly, providing a friendly and courteous service issuing Penalty Charge Notices where needed. You will also check the pay and display machines and ensure the car parks are maintained to a high standard. Patrols are both on foot and mobile.
Mole Valley District Council offers full training and essential uniform items.
What we are looking for from you
- You will have good customer service skills
- Enjoy working with the public
- Good observation and accuracy abilities
- Basic computer skills for using a handheld device
- Be self- motivated and resilient
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
You should also be comfortable working outside in all weathers.
The role operates on a shift basis working Monday to Saturday. Officers are based in Dorking, Surrey but will need to be willing to travel throughout the district.
A company vehicle will be provided when travelling as part of the mobile patrol.

Local Government Reorganisation (LGR)
Mole Valley District Council is preparing for a major transformation through Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) which will come into effect on 1 April 2027. The aim of LGR is to create a more streamlined, efficient and locally responsive system of government that strengthens public services. As a result of these changes, Surrey County Council and the 11 District and Borough Councils — including Mole Valley District Council — will be replaced by two new unitary councils: East Surrey and West Surrey. Mole Valley District Council will become part of the new East Surrey Unitary Council and this authority will be responsible for all services in the eastern part of the county.
As we move toward LGR, we want to reassure all applicants that roles linked to Mole Valley District Council will continue beyond the transition period and arrangements are in place to ensure that staff will transfer on existing terms and conditions to the new East Surrey Council.
