Temporary Events Coordinator – Immediate Start

Conference location: Edgbaston Park Hotel, Birmingham
Gordon Moody is looking for an experienced and highly organised Events Coordinator to provide hands-on support during the final planning and delivery stages of our upcoming conference.
The conference programme and plans are already taking shape. We now need someone who can join us immediately, quickly understand the arrangements and work closely with our team to ensure everything comes together successfully.
This is a short-term temporary opportunity, starting as soon as possible and finishing after the conference on Wednesday 9 September 2026. Attendance at the conference in Birmingham is essential. We have the speakers already booked and delegates invited.
The scope of work will be discussed during the interview, maybe 15-20 hours per week until the conference date. We can pay on an hourly rate or fixed fee.
Key responsibilities
You will support the operational delivery of the conference, including:
- Coordinating with venue suppliers, speakers and other key stakeholders.
- Managing event logistics, schedules and delegate requirements.
- Supporting speakers with final arrangements and information.
- Monitoring registrations and responding to delegate queries.
- Preparing event materials, documents, signage and delegate information.
- Supporting the Gordon Moody team with final preparations.
- Identifying and resolving any last-minute issues.
- Attending the conference at Edgbaston Park Hotel on Wednesday 9 September.
- Providing hands-on support throughout the day to ensure the event runs smoothly.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience coordinating or delivering conferences, events or similar projects.
- Is available to start immediately and work through to 9 September 2026.
- Can attend the conference in Birmingham on Wednesday 9 September.
- Is confident coordinating suppliers, venues, speakers and delegates.
- Can manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Is highly organised, proactive and comfortable working independently.
- Has excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Can quickly get up to speed and work collaboratively with an established team.
- Remains calm and professional in a busy event environment.
