Transport Planner
We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our growing operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating vehicle movements, planning efficient routes, managing driver schedules, and ensuring all transport activities comply with safety, legal and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and optimise daily routes for fleet operations
- Allocate drivers, vehicles and equipment based on job requirements
- Monitor live jobs and adjust plans to maintain service levels
- Liaise with customers, drivers and internal teams
- Maintain accurate records, transport documentation and compliance
- Support continuous improvement in efficiency and cost control
Requirements
- Previous experience in transport planning or logistics coordination
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and solve problems quickly
- Good IT skills, including transport planning or routing software
- Knowledge of UK road networks and transport regulations
- Knowledge within the waste industry
