We are seeking a Mobile Kitchen Manager to focus on delivering great food for students while supporting both the Operations team and on-site catering teams.
This role is key to setting and driving standards, ensuring services are delivered consistently in line with agreed budgets and targets.
You will play a vital role in training and supporting site teams, including kitchen managers, while providing positive leadership and building strong relationships with clients and students. Flexibility is essential, as you will work across multiple sites, sometimes at short notice, to maintain service standards.
The Role
- Support site teams to deliver high-quality food and consistent catering standards across the contract
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, customers and colleagues
- Ensure compliance with company food policies, supplier agreements and approved product lists
- Train, develop and motivate teams to deliver excellent customer-focused service
- Monitor production, portion control and waste to maintain efficiency and reduce costs
- Promote customer satisfaction by gathering feedback and implementing improvements
- Maintain accurate records including timesheets, stock, training and sales data
- Ensure financial control of food and materials, supporting achievement of budget targets
About You
- Experience as a Kitchen Manager or potential to progress from a catering assistant role
- Ability to travel independently across sites
- Strong knowledge of school catering and food preparation
- Understanding of health and safety and accident prevention
- Awareness of profit and loss principles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good organisational and administrative abilities
- Experience with kitchen systems (e.g. Cypad) or willingness to learn
- Positive, proactive approach with the ability to build strong relationships
