Job Title: Life Skills Teacher
Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Life Skills Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students of diverse abilities, including those with special educational needs, and will be committed to helping students develop essential life and vocational skills for independent living.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging life skills curriculum aligned with student needs and IEP goals
- Teach practical subjects such as personal hygiene, financial literacy, communication, cooking, time management, and job readiness
- Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with special education staff, therapists, and families to support student development
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
- Provide differentiated instruction and use assistive technology as appropriate
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification (Special Education or related endorsement preferred)
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for student success
