Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pizza Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing fresh dough, sauces, toppings, and cooking high-quality pizzas to restaurant standards. This role is ideal for someone with strong kitchen experience, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for creating delicious, well-presented food.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and stretch fresh pizza dough according to restaurant recipes
- Prepare sauces, cheeses, meats, vegetables, and other pizza toppings
- Cook pizzas using a pizza oven, ensuring quality, consistency, and presentation
- Follow restaurant standards for portion control, taste, and appearance
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pizza section and kitchen area
- Ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared safely
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or expiry issues promptly
- Assist with preparation during busy service periods
- Work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth service
- Support the development of new pizza recipes, specials, and menu ideas
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as a Pizza Chef or in a similar kitchen role
- Confident in preparing, stretching, and cooking pizza dough
- Experience using a pizza oven, preferably wood-fired, stone-baked, or commercial oven
- Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure
- Excellent organisation and time-management skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Passion for food, quality ingredients, and great presentation
- Willingness to learn and develop within the kitchen environment
