Medical Administrator – General Practice, Peterborough

Pay Rate:
- £16.65 per hour via Umbrella Brada PAYE, or
- £14.15 per hour PAYE
About the Role
We are currently looking for experienced Medical Administrators to join a busy and professional General Practice in Peterborough.
This is an excellent opportunity for an administrator with previous primary care or GP practice experience who is confident working in a fast-paced clinical environment and understands the importance of providing an efficient, patient-focused administrative service.
The successful candidates will play an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice, working closely with GPs, nurses, healthcare professionals and the wider practice team.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties may include, but will not be limited to:
- Managing and processing administrative tasks relating to patient care
- Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Processing referrals and ensuring information is accurately recorded
- Supporting clinicians with administrative and workflow-related tasks
- Managing patient requests and directing them appropriately
- Using Anima confidently to manage patient contacts, requests and clinical workflows
- Updating and maintaining accurate patient records
- Processing information and ensuring relevant documentation is available to clinicians
- Communicating professionally with patients, clinicians and other members of the practice team
- Managing telephone and electronic enquiries where required
- Supporting the practice with general administrative duties
- Ensuring all work is completed accurately, efficiently and in line with practice procedures
- Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times and working in accordance with GDPR and practice policies
Essential Experience and Skills
To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience working within primary care/general practice.
In particular, we are looking for candidates who:
- Have previous experience as a Medical Administrator, GP Administrator, Practice Administrator or similar
- Have a good understanding of how a GP practice operates
- Have experience using Anima – this is essential for the role
- Understand primary care terminology, processes and workflows
- Are confident dealing with patients and healthcare professionals
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Can manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
- Are organised, reliable and able to work independently
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understand the importance of confidentiality and handling sensitive patient information
- Are comfortable working in a busy environment where priorities can change throughout the day
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will be someone who can hit the ground running and requires minimal training on primary care systems and processes.
You should be confident working within a GP setting and understand the importance of providing an efficient service while maintaining a high standard of patient care and confidentiality.
Previous primary care experience and Anima experience are essential, so please ensure these are clearly highlighted on your CV.
Working Hours
There are two full-time equivalent positions available, working Monday to Friday.

The available pay options are:
£16.65 per hour via Umbrella PAYE

£14.15 per hour PAYE
