Job Overview
Our client is an independent sub contract precision machining company with a fabrication capability. The supply to various sectors including food can making machinery suppliers, rail, offshore, defence, aerospace, marine, power and automotive industries.
They are looking for an experienced and talented Sales Manager to further increase our portfolio of customers by bringing on new business in targeted industry sectors.
This position is suited to someone who loves the industry and thrives on developing and nurturing new business. A successful candidate will build long lasting contacts and relationships and understands the industry deeply with firm knowledge of subcontract precision CNC machining and fabrication.
Duties
- Sales visits and calls to account customers. Build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
- Production of weekly sales visit reports.
- Production of monthly and quarterly order intake forecast ensuring that data is accurately entered and managed withing the company's CRM or other sales management systems.
- Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met.
- Track and record activity on customer accounts and help to close deals to meets these targets.
- For existing clients, you must identify the most profitable and sustainable work from the clients database.
- Use knowledge of the market place report on existing client base identifying areas for further development and increased scope of work.
- Identify potential areas of added value work or new services to ensure client retention.
- Meet with existing clients and determine areas of business where the company can expand and develop the relationship to maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities.
- Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
- Research and identify potential industry sectors, new potential clients, meet with and build relationships with new clients handling all aspects.
- Attend industry functions, such as events and conferences and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
- Plan marketing approaches and participate in price costings for the components and services.
This role is a full time, permanent position, with the expected hours of 38 hours per week and attracts a competitive remuneration package. A successful candidate should have engineering experience, be able to read drawings, and understand engineering practices and processes.
