1x KS2 Class Teacher - Full Time (Mon-Thurs: 8.10-2.55; Fri: 8.10-2.35)

At Al-Islamia Institute for Education, we pride ourselves on offering an excellent academic education rooted in Islamic values. We are recruiting for a KS2 teacher maternity cover and looking for an outstanding candidate at any stage of their professional journey.
We are looking for someone who will:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging, and inclusive lessons to KS2 pupils.
- Set high expectations for pupils' achievement and behaviour.
- Focus on securing excellent outcomes through a knowledge-rich curriculum and robust assessment strategies.
- Embed Islamic values and character education across learning experiences.
- Take an active role in wider school life, including extra-curricular activities, assemblies, and theme days.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to improve practice and contribute to curriculum development.
- Support and promote a strong safeguarding culture across the school community.
Who can apply?
Graduate Candidates seeking QTS with a minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) and recent, relevant experience working in primary settings. Following a probationary period, contingent on CPD funding, you will receive in-school support to undertake school-supported trainng to begin working towards a QTS.
Early Career Teachers (ECTs) already holding QTS by the role start date. Following a probationary period, the school will support your efforts to apply and begin your Early Career induction period. You will have access to and the support of experienced mentors and receive a tailored CPD programme, linked to the Early Career Framework and school improvement priorities.
Experienced Teachers with a strong track record of delivering excellent outcomes. Following a probationary period, you will either be offered robust in-school support to begin a self-funded degree and teaching qualification or continue to develop your leadership skills in a school committed to nurturing future leaders, with opportunities for subject leadership or school-wide projects.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Recent experience delivering or supporting the Primary National Curriculum 2014.
- Strong commitment to inclusive, high-quality education and professional development.
- A clear commitment to upholding safeguarding principles and maintaining a safe school environment.
- Dedication to embedding Islamic values within learning experiences.
- Eligibility to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available).
Desirable:
- Level 5 Teaching and Learning qualification or equivalent
- Undergraduate degree (2:1) or equivalent
- QTS
- Familiarity with Islamic pedagogy, Tarbiyah frameworks, and/or faith-based education settings.
- Experience delivering high-impact interventions, leading curriculum areas, or mentoring others.

Salary: £17,466.40-£20,122.64 pro rata

Recruitment Process
Phase 1:
- Virtual interview exploring values, professional experiences, and aspirations.
Phase 2:
- School visit and completion of a short, observed teaching task and in-school independent task.
- Panel interview focusing on curriculum knowledge, safeguarding, and contribution to school life.
