Solar PV Installer – Self‑Employed (Ad Hoc Work)
Day Rate: £170–£250 per day
Location: Primarily Liverpool, with nationwide work available
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Solar PV Installer to support our team on a flexible, self‑employed basis. Work is allocated ad hoc and includes both domestic and commercial installations.
Requirements
Experience & Technical Skills
- Minimum 3 years’ Solar PV installation experience (required).
- Strong understanding of electrical safety and Solar PV system operation.
- Proven installation experience across all roof types.
- High competence with:
- GSE in‑roof systems
- Viridian in‑roof systems
- K2 on‑roof mounting solutions
- Experience in Solar PV inspections, maintenance and repairs is advantageous.
- A willingness to learn and develop within a growing solar PV business
Professionalism & Customer Interaction
- Previous customer‑facing experience — you will be working in customers’ homes.
- Must be an excellent communicator, providing regular feedback.
- Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Able to use phone‑based work apps, such as SafetyCulture or similar platforms for reporting, checklists, and site documentation.
- Competent at writing clear, accurate reports, including installation notes, handover documentation, and site‑specific observations
- Ability to represent the company professionally on site.
Practical Requirements
- Own vehicle suitable for transporting tools and materials.
- Own tools required for Solar PV installation work.
- Willingness to travel — most work is in Liverpool, but nationwide projects are available.
