If so, we are looking for a reliable, proactive and enthusiastic Retail Administrator to support the day-to-day running of our five charity shops.
The shops are vital in helping to support our charity, The Isaiah Project. We are a local charity formed in 2008 with the aim of opening doors of opportunity and hope to the vulnerable and disadvantaged in our community. We help people get back on their feet by providing housing, ongoing support and friendship, training in life skills, as well as offering volunteering opportunities across The Project itself.
As a key member of our retail team, your main responsibilities will be:
- Act as the first point of telephone contact for our shops, customers and general charity enquiries
- Manage the van collections and deliveries so they run efficiently
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date stock lists
- Source donated furniture from local community platforms and groups
- Collect and bank shop takings in line with our Financial Control Policy
- Manage and expand our Gift Aid programme
- Create and post engaging social media content to promote The Project and its shops
- Provide administrative support
- Help to organise work placements
- Support and cover in the shop if necessary
Person Specification
Essential:
- Excellent interpersonal and telephone communication skills
- Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities
- Confident working independently and under pressure
- Proficient in Excel, Word and Google Drive
- Valid driving licence and the use of a car
- Be a team player
Desirable:
- Experience working in a charity or retail environment
- Social media content creation skills
