JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Cadet Stores Assistant (CSA) Pay Band: E1 (AHW)
Department: Sussex Army Cadet Force
Line Manager: Cadet Executive Officer
General Description:
The CSA would be expected to work under the direction of the County Quartermaster managing the full range of equipment and stores to support ACF Counties at HQ/CTC and in detachments.
Specific Responsibilities/Duties:
1. Receive all material, check against documentation for quantity and quality and bring to account.
2. Maintain Account Ledgers (Clothing, Miscellaneous, Loan Pool etc) for receipts and issues.
3. Carry out Receipts and issue and the day to day management of the Unit Ammunition Store.
4. Operate the WESTMINSTER stores package.
5. Condition returned stores for cleanliness, repair and general serviceability.
6. Prepare paper work for disposal, writes off, issues and receipts.
7. Submit demands for replenishment.
8. Prepare stores for issue at weekend training.
9. Prepare initial issue of uniforms to new recruits and carry out exchanges as required.
10. Accounting for Operational Ration Packs.
11. Carry out deliveries and collections to/from outside agencies.
12. Prepare accounts for inspections.
13. Dispose of packaging in line with waste management policy.
14. Maintain stores areas in a tidy and workmanlike condition.
15. Stand in for the CQM and other members of staff as and when required.
16. Support Adult Training & E Coy Weekends.
17. Other duties as directed by the CQM consistent with the general duties required of the grade.
Special Requirements (qualifications, equipment skills, etc)
16. Essential
· Previous stores/ warehouse experience.
· Be IT literate with particular experience in using MS Office applications.
· Hold a current Cat B driving licence.
· If not ammunition trained, be prepared to undertake the Ammunition Storekeepers Course.
17. Desirable
· Previous military stores experience.
· Qualified or relevant experience in Health and Safety matters.
· Fire NCO trained.
· First Aid at Work qualified.
· Knowledge of Military Security procedures.
· Experience of Military Transport procedures.
· Hold a current Cat C, CE, D1 and D1E driving licence.
· Qualified Army Ammunition Storekeeper.
18. Other Features of the Job:
Attendance at Annual Camp is essential.
A CSA is required, as a condition of his/her employment, to serve in the ACF and may qualify for the Voluntary Allowance (VA) in accordance with the ACF Regulations. He/she will not be promoted above the substantive rank of WO2 in his/her role as CSA.
Pay: £32,455.00 per year
