To work closely with the Ops Manager with regard to operational matters on a day to day basis. Supervision of the Air Export team, working in line with current trends and company policies. To ensure our customers receive the best service at all times, in line with the SOP, to provide a smooth and efficient shipment of goods by Airfreight.
Financial/Commercial
- Calculation of costs on job files and raising of sales invoices within KPI
- Negotiation of freight rates and schedules with providers
- Assist Branch Manager with month end reporting
- Issuing of Export quotations to clients and overseas partners where required
Operational
- Collating UK export sales leads, forwarding to CS/BD teams for follow up
- Operational liaison with overseas offices
- Co-ordinating export collections and onward export operations
- Completion of export documentation
- General day to day export operations and planning international airfreight cargo movements
- Co-ordinating Airfreight movements with overseas airfreight offices and airlines.
- Customs Export declarations on CDS – ASM/Sequoia
- Data input to KSmart system to create job and raising of job files
- Completing post flight tracking
- Creating and maintaining export information databases and SOP’s
- General administration duties including upload of documents to e-docs and filing
- Assist Ops Manager and Management team with department development and growth
- Review department processes / procedures and implement changes to approve efficiency
- Assist with the training and development of Export and Quoting staff
Essential Skills & Qualities
- +5 years experience in similar Air Export role
- Able to competently handle Air Export shipments – start to finish
- Presentable
- Good work ethic
- Punctual
- Able to work independently but also a team player
- Drive for progression
Desirable
- Dangerous Goods by Air
- Supervisory / Team leader experience
