Shield Southern is a roofing contractor working with several of the UK's major housebuilders across the Thames Valley. With a strong order book and numerous fast-paced live sites, we are looking to expand our team. We're hiring a Contracts Manager to run a portfolio of our sites alongside our existing management team.
The Role
Reporting to our Managing Director, you'll take ownership of a handful of live roofing projects at any one time, from handover through to completion and defects sign-off.
Your main responsibilities include but are not limited to;
- Running site teams and roofing subcontractors day to day
- Programming labour and materials against housebuilder build programmes
- Quality control on pitched and flat systems, in accordance with NHBC standards
- Acting as the main point of contact for client site managers and contracts managers
- Health and safety on site, RAMS, inspections, toolbox talks
- Progress reporting, site records and valuation support
- Resolving the problems that come up daily on a live housing site
What you'll need
- Contracts management or senior site management experience in construction
- Working knowledge of pitched and flat roofing systems, you can spot a bad detail before it becomes a defect
- CSCS card and SMSTS
- Confident managing several sites independently and holding subcontractors to programme
- Full UK driving licence
Useful, not essential
- Experience with major housebuilders (Barratt/BDW, Bellway, Persimmon or similar)
- First Aid at Work
- Working at Height / roofing-specific tickets
