Job Description:
Fixed-term contract (July – end of October 2026)
We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Kitchen Porter & Cafe Assistant to join our friendly team for the busy summer season. This is a varied role supporting both the kitchen and front of house operations within our fast-paced and popular café environment.
The successful candidate will be reliable, positive, and able to work efficiently as part of a team while helping us deliver excellent customer service and maintain high standards throughout the café.
Please note, there is no staff accommodation available.
Duties
- Assist with washing dishes, kitchen equipment, and maintaining cleanliness within the kitchen areas
- Support chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation when required
- Keep customer and staff areas clean, organised, and well presented
- Provide friendly and welcoming customer service
- Assist with clearing tables, serving customers, and general front of house duties
- Help maintain smooth daily operations during busy service periods
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures at all times
- Work efficiently both independently and as part of the wider café team
Requirements
- Previous hospitality or café experience is preferred but not essential
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and holidays
- Understanding of cleanliness and hygiene standards within hospitality environments

Pay: £12.80 per hour
