Heart & Soul Flavour is a growing Caribbean takeaway in Abbey Wood, serving authentic Jamaican food to our local community.
We are looking for a mature, reliable and enthusiastic person seeking stable, long-term employment to join our team.
THE ROLE
This is a hands-on front and back of house position. You will work alongside the team, helping with:
- Serving customers and taking orders
- Packing takeaway meals and checking orders
- Supporting food preparation
- Till and cash handling following training
- Cleaning, washing up and maintaining high standards
- Restocking and putting away deliveries
- Moving stock and supplies and emptying bins
- Supporting the team during busy periods
- Helping to keep the takeaway running smoothly
We are particularly interested in someone with previous supervisory, team leader or senior team experience who can use their initiative, take responsibility during a shift and support other team members.
This is a hands-on role — not a desk-based supervisory position. You will work across both front and back of house.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:
- Has proven experience in hospitality, catering, takeaway, food service, retail or customer service
- Holds a current Level 2 Food Safety/Hygiene in Catering certificate or equivalent
- Has previous supervisory, team leader or senior team experience – highly desirable
- Has experience working in a Caribbean/Jamaican/West Indian takeaway or restaurant – highly desirable
- Has good spoken and conversational English to communicate with customers and colleagues, take orders accurately and understand food safety and workplace instructions
- Is reliable, punctual and has excellent timekeeping
- Is trustworthy, hardworking and takes pride in their work
- Is confident dealing with customers and taking orders
- Is happy working across front and back of house
- Has a genuine interest in Caribbean/West Indian food
- Is comfortable with cleaning, washing up and general takeaway duties
- Is comfortable with manual handling and lifting stock and supplies
- Is available to work evenings and weekends
- Can provide suitable employment references, which will be requested and checked
Please note: This is a busy, physical, hands-on takeaway role involving customer service, food service, cleaning, washing up, stock handling and manual handling.
