West Berkshire Council is seeking a Finance Assistant to provide essential financial support within the Education Services team. The Role
As a Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for:

Processing financial transactions, including orders, invoices, and payments
- Maintaining accurate financial records and databases
- Assisting with budget monitoring and reporting
- Providing administrative support, such as data entry and filing
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations
You will work closely with the SEN & DC Service Business Manager to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial information and support.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

Previous experience in a finance or administrative role
- Basic understanding of financial processes and principles
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
While not essential, experience working in a public sector or local authority environment would be advantageous.
