We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Operative to join our team at Millington Springs Care Home, a 42-bed nursing home based in Selston, Nottingham.
The role involves carrying out a wide range of routine building, maintenance, and repair tasks to ensure the home remains safe, compliant, and well-maintained. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Carrying out audits and maintaining accurate, up-to-date records
- Checking electrical items brought into the home by residents (PAT awareness)
- Monitoring and supporting key systems including heating, fire alarms, refrigeration, and general electrics
- Ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH, and all relevant service contracts and inspections
- General maintenance across the home
- Decorating and basic refurbishment tasks
The ideal candidate will have previous maintenance experience, ideally within a care home or similar environment. You should have practical skills across general building and DIY, along with an understanding of compliance, cleaning standards, and record keeping within a care setting.
A working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems is important, along with a proactive approach and attention to detail. Most importantly, you will take pride in creating a safe, comfortable, and well-presented environment for our residents.
This role requires the successful candidate to be on call to respond to any urgent maintenance issues or emergencies within the home.
