Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Assistants to provide high-quality support and care to residents in a variety of settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home & community care environments. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the well-being and independence of individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, and other health conditions. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs and overall condition; report changes to healthcare professionals
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs
- Help with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident rooms and common areas to maintain a safe environment
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts for safe resident transfers
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
- Follow care plans meticulously, ensuring individualized attention for each resident
- Assist with patient monitoring during activities or medical procedures
- Support residents during outings or community activities as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided in compliance with healthcare standards
Experience
Candidates should ideally have prior experience working in senior care, assisted living, home health, hospice care, or long-term care environments. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, or other special needs is highly valued. Certifications such as First Aid and CPR are preferred. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, medication administration, patient observation techniques, and vital signs monitoring is essential. Previous experience using mobility aids like Hoyer lifts or working within care plans enhances suitability for this role. A background in social work or nursing-related fields is advantageous. The ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively in a team-oriented environment is important for success in this position.
