Security Officer
Location: Middlewich, Cheshire, CW10 9NT
Shift Pattern: Night shifts, 18:00–06:00, with occasional day shifts on weekends and bank holidays
About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, professional and vigilant Security Officer to join our team and work on a large Upper Tier COMAH site in Middlewich.
The site consists of a main location and three smaller offsite locations. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining the security and safety of the site throughout the night.
The role involves carrying out regular and unpredictable security patrols, with a minimum of seven patrols per shift — four across the main site and three covering the offsite locations.
You will also be responsible for carrying out temperature checks, external CCTV checks and monitoring site security, ensuring that any concerns or incidents are identified and reported appropriately.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a minimum of seven security patrols per shift across the main site and three offsite locations.
- Conduct regular and unpredictable patrols in line with site requirements.
- Complete temperature checks and record findings accurately.
- Carry out external CCTV checks and report any concerns.
- Monitor site security and identify any potential risks or incidents.
- Record all patrols, temperature readings and CCTV findings accurately in the Site OR Book.
- Record and monitor all vehicle movements on site.
- Follow the Site Emergency Plan, Fire & Security Manual and all site-specific procedures.
- Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies in accordance with site procedures.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism, vigilance and attention to detail at all times.
- Work independently while ensuring all site procedures and instructions are followed.
- Complete any other reasonable duties required to support the security and safety of the site.
About You
We are looking for someone who is dependable, observant and takes pride in maintaining high standards.
Due to the nature of the site, which stores a range of chemicals, safety awareness and strict adherence to procedures are essential.
You should have:
- A valid SIA Security Licence.
- A full UK driving licence.
- First Aid training.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong observation and reporting skills.
- The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
- A professional approach and excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to follow detailed site-specific procedures and instructions.
- A willingness to complete all required site training.
Training Requirements
Successful applicants will be required to complete:
- 3-day site-specific training.
All training must be successfully completed before the officer is able to undertake the full duties of the role.

Pay: £13.10 per hour
