Housekeeper – The Bricklayers, Newbury
School Hours | Monday–Friday | 9:15am–2:45pm
We’re looking for a reliable, organised and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join the team at The Bricklayers in Newbury.
This role has been designed around school-friendly hours, making it a great opportunity for someone looking for regular daytime work that fits around family life.
The Hours
9:15am – 2:45pm, Monday to Friday
This could be seven days per week for one person, or we would be happy to consider two people sharing the role for the right candidates.
There may also be opportunities for additional hours depending on the needs of the business.
The Role
Our bedrooms are an important part of the guest experience, and we're looking for someone who takes genuine pride in making sure every room is presented beautifully.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Cleaning and preparing guest bedrooms to a high standard
- Making beds and changing linen
- Cleaning bathrooms and replenishing guest supplies
- Vacuuming, dusting and cleaning all bedroom surfaces
- Checking rooms carefully before they are released for guests
- Cleaning and maintaining communal and housekeeping areas
- Managing linen, towels and housekeeping supplies
- Reporting any maintenance issues, damage or missing items
- Keeping housekeeping areas organised and well stocked
- Working efficiently to ensure rooms are ready for guest check-in
Who We're Looking For
You don't need to have years of housekeeping experience, but you do need to care about the details.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Exceptionally clean and detail-oriented
- Reliable and punctual
- Organised and able to manage their own workload
- Comfortable working independently
- Proud of doing a job properly
- Able to work at a good pace without compromising standards
- Friendly and happy to be part of a wider hospitality team
Previous hotel, pub or accommodation housekeeping experience would be an advantage, but attitude, reliability and attention to detail are what matter most to us.
Amazing guest experiences start with amazing people – and sometimes it's the details guests don't notice that make the biggest difference.
If you're looking for a role that fits around the school day and you'd like to join The Bricklayers team, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today and let us know whether you're interested in the full five days or a job-share arrangement.
