This is a hybrid role, combining home working with regular attendance at our offices in Cambridge and Cranfield.
Candidates should be based within approximately a one-hour commute of Cambridge.

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive HR Administrator to join our growing team. This role is responsible for delivering an exceptional onboarding experience for new employees across our UK logistics operations, ensuring every new starter is fully compliant, engaged and ready to begin employment on schedule.
Working closely with Recruitment, Operations and Hiring Managers, you will coordinate the end-to-end onboarding process, maintaining high levels of accuracy, compliance and customer service. In addition to onboarding, you will provide comprehensive day-to-day HR administrative support, including maintaining accurate employee records, preparing employment documentation, updating HR systems, processing contractual changes, supporting probation and absence administration, responding to employee queries, and ensuring all HR documentation is managed in accordance with company policies and UK employment legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
Onboarding & New Starters:
- Manage the end-to-end onboarding and off-boarding processes for all new and existing employees.
- Issue contracts of employment and new starter documentation.
- Ensure all pre-employment checks are completed before employment commences.
- Coordinate start dates with hiring managers and operational teams.
- Maintain regular communication with candidates throughout the onboarding journey.
- Respond promptly to candidate enquiries and provide a positive onboarding experience.
Compliance :
- Verify Right to Work documentation.
- Verify DBS checks.
- Ensure all compliance documentation is accurate and stored securely.
- Monitor outstanding documentation and proactively chase candidates and managers.
- Maintain accurate employee records within the HR database.
HR Administration:
- Prepare onboarding packs and induction documentation.
- Update employee records and organisational systems.
- Produce reports and compliance metrics.
- Support probation administration where required.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information at all times.
- General HR administration
- Reporting
- Liaison with payroll department
Requirements:
- Previous experience in an Administration or Onboarding role.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.
- Exceptionally organised and detail-oriented.
- Proactive and able to work independently.
- Professional, approachable and empathetic.
Desirable:
- Experience within logistics, transport, warehousing or a fast-paced operational environment.
- Experience using HR systems or applicant tracking systems.
