Job Summary
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking Yard Operative to join our team at South Planks Farm and Stone UK.This is a varied, hands-on role that combines day-to-day yard duties with general site maintenance and supporting the wider team. You'll help ensure the yard and surrounding site are well organised, safe and presentable while assisting customers, managing stock and preparing for events throughout the year.If you enjoy practical work, take pride in maintaining high standards and like being part of a small, hardworking team, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities
- Assisting trade and retail customers with products and materials.
- Loading and unloading customer and supplier vehicles.
- Safely operating a forklift (where licensed).
- Organising, moving and maintaining stock within the yard.
- Keeping the yard clean, tidy and well presented at all times.
- Carrying out general site maintenance and housekeeping duties.
- Assisting with the setup and breakdown of on-site events, displays and exhibitions.
- Supporting stock control and day-to-day yard operations.
- Carrying out occasional local deliveries of small items (full driving licence required).
- Working alongside the wider team to ensure the site operates efficiently and safely.
Requirements
- Experience working in a trade yard, builders' merchant, landscaping supplies or similar environment.
- Forklift licence preferred (or willingness to undertake training).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual work.
- Organised, reliable and able to use own initiative.
- Pride in maintaining a clean, safe and professional environment.
- Approachable and confident when dealing with customers.
- Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
