Sunnier Skies Care Service's Ltd are committed to providing therapeutic care to children and young people to support them to achieve positive outcomes. We are looking for an experienced Senior Residential Child Care Practicioner to join our team in our small 3 bedded home. Reporting directly to the home's registered manager the ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and have prior experience working in accordance with therapeutic models of care within residential children's homes. All staff are responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children we care for. The Senior Child Care Practicioner will be expected to take overall responsibility for the running of their shifts in line with the home's policies and procedures. They will confidently lead a team of residential care workers and plan and implement activities, help with meal preparation, maintain the cleanliness of the home, and provide guidance and support to the children. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, be patient and understanding, and have a genuine interest in helping children reach their full potential.
Due to the nature of the role a full driving licence is required
Responsibilities:
- Supervise children in a safe and nurturing environment.
- Ensure the safeguarding of children and young people is prioitised at all times
- Lead and support a team of residential care workers.
- Provide a stimulating and educational environment for children.
- Plan and implement activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional development of children.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development.
- Ensure the safety of the children at all times.
- Communicate with parents and social workers about their child's progress and development.
- Work as part of a team on a rota pattern to include on average two sleep in shifts per week

- Residential Childcare: 2 years (required)
