You’ll support the Estate Manager to ensure a high standard of repairs and grounds maintenance across the estate, helping to provide a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Undertaking maintenance tasks, utilising your trade skills when required.
- Being aware of and reporting any matters relating to the condition of the estate property, materials and tools/ equipment that may require attention.
- Undertaking repairs, painting, decorating and moving and handling when required.
- Ensuring communal gardens are maintained and well presented, pruning, grass cutting, clearing debris etc.
- Assisting in the inventory and maintenance of equipment, ensuring stock is replenish in a timely manner.
- Assisting in the cleaning of walls, ceilings, extractor hoods as well as the movement of furniture and equipment.
- Assisting in the inventory of equipment and ensuring ongoing maintenance and safe storage of equipment.
- Assisting the charity in implementing quality assurance initiatives to continually improve maintenance standards.
Requirements
- Experience in a maintenance, caretaking, facilities or similar hands-on role
- Practical DIY skills and a proactive, can-do attitude
- Awareness of health & safety and safe working practices
- Good communication skills and ability to build relationships with residents and colleagues
- Sensitivity to the needs of elderly and vulnerable residents
- Flexibility and willingness to cover holidays where required and attending the estate in an emergency and as part of out of hours On Call rota (additional remuneration is give).
A trade qualification is desirable but not essential — we welcome applications from a range of practical backgrounds.
This role is subject to appropriate DBS check.
Pay: £24,606.40-£25,571.00 per year
