We are recruiting for a Deputy Manager to join our children’s home team. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced and child-focused professional who is passionate about making a difference and confident in helping lead a home to a high standard.
Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will help oversee the day-to-day running of the home, support the staff team and help create a safe, nurturing and structured environment where children and young people can thrive.
Pay and rewards
- £38,500 basic salary
- £65 per sleep-in
- £500 annual bonus on your employment anniversary
- £200 bonus if your home achieves Ofsted Good
- £500 bonus if your home achieves Ofsted Outstanding

The role
You will support the Registered Manager in leading the home, maintaining high standards of care and helping ensure children and young people receive consistent, safe and nurturing support. You will also help guide staff practice, lead shifts and contribute to the overall development and performance of the home.
Responsibilities include
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the daily running of the home
- Leading shifts and supporting the wider staff team
- Promoting safeguarding and high-quality care at all times
- Building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
- Supporting children with routines, activities, education and emotional wellbeing
- Using trauma-informed approaches to support behaviour and emotional regulation
- Monitoring records and documentation to ensure quality and compliance
- Supporting staff development and role modelling good practice
- Working closely with professionals and other agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children
What you will need
- Experience within children’s residential care
- Experience in a senior or supervisory role
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- A calm, resilient and nurturing approach
- Good understanding of safeguarding and care standards
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins
- Full manual driving licence required
