Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and set up CNC machines to machine titanium materials.
This opportunity is for a skilled CNC Machinist, to work on a continental shift pattern at our site based in Witton, Birmingham.
Your expertise will contribute to the creation of high-quality products by machining products in line with customer requirements and ensuring optimal machine performance. Responsibilities
- Set and operate machines and CNC machines such as millers, planing, peelers, saws and lathes to machine and cut supplied titanium product according to detailed specifications.
- Accurately observe and record identify references.
- Set up machines by installing tooling, adjusting machine parameters, and verifying calibration for each job.
- Inspect machined products using approved measuring systems and recording the results on required documentation.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production runs, machine settings, and quality checks to ensure traceability.
- Transport and handle material using forklift trucks, cranes and slinging systems.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to ensure continuous operation.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC milling or turning machines in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with tooling selection, setup procedures, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment towards the Plant and Company objectives.
- Understanding of best practice machining techniques and have the ability to develop successful internal customer/supplier relationships.
- Previous experience or familiarisation of working towards Quality Control Procedures and Quality Assurance Standards would be advantageous.
- Ability to drive a Forklift Truck and operate crane/lifting equipment (full training will be given).
The post holder may come into contact with technology or equipment controlled by local and/or U.S. government legislation and will be required to undertake specific security screening protocols.
