We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Contracts Assistant to join our friendly team, working within the Strategy, Commissioning and Performance Service at Wokingham Borough Council on a full time, permanent basis.
As a Contracts Assistant, you'll help make sure our contracts are managed smoothly and efficiently. You'll provide administrative and contract support for Adult and Children's Services and be a key point of contact for colleagues, providers and other partners, offering helpful and responsive support.
Working alongside the Senior Contract Manager and Contract Officers, you'll help us make the best use of public money while supporting high-quality services for local people. Together, we aim to improve outcomes for residents across Wokingham Borough and deliver services that are reliable, sustainable and focused on what matters most to the people who use them.

Key Responsibilities:
- Be the first point of contact for the Strategy and Commissioning Service, helping people by phone, email and in person, and managing the team inbox.
- Respond to everyday questions and information requests in a helpful and timely way.
- Support Contract Officers with contract administration, including carrying out checks, keeping records up to date and maintaining organised filing systems.
- Prepare and send emails, letters and forms to providers and other external partners.
- Keep contact details accurate and up to date for providers and key contacts.
- Provide administrative support for meetings, including arranging dates, preparing agendas and taking notes and minutes.
Candidate Requirements:
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Excellent time management
- Confident in using Microsoft office applications including, Word, Teams & Outlook
- Familiar with contract management systems
- Customer Service experience is desirable
