Parts Manager
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Parts Manager to lead and manage a busy parts operation. This is a hands-on management role, responsible for overseeing a team of three staff members and ensuring the parts department delivers excellent service, efficient stock management and strong commercial performance.
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of parts operations, stock control, budgets and performance targets, with the ability to lead a small team while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and support a team of three parts staff members.
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the parts department, ensuring an efficient and professional service.
- Manage parts ordering, stock levels, availability and inventory control.
- Ensure the correct parts are sourced and supplied for customers and internal requirements.
- Work within company processes and ensure all parts supplied are from the approved product range.
- Develop strong relationships with customers and ensure their parts requirements are dealt with promptly and accurately.
- Monitor stock levels and identify opportunities to improve stock efficiency and reduce unnecessary holding costs.
- Manage budgets and work towards agreed departmental targets and KPIs.
- Monitor departmental performance, identify areas for improvement and take action where required.
- Ensure accurate pricing, invoicing and stock records.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure parts requirements are understood and fulfilled.
- Support and develop team members through effective communication, coaching and performance management.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety, housekeeping and organisation within the parts department.
- Ensure the department operates in line with company policies, procedures and customer service standards.
About You
We are looking for someone who is organised, commercially aware and confident managing a small team. You will ideally have previous experience within a parts, automotive, agricultural, machinery or similar environment and understand the importance of maintaining the right stock at the right time.
You will have:
- Previous experience in a parts management or senior parts role.
- Experience of managing or supervising a small team.
- A good understanding of stock control and parts ordering.
- An understanding of budgets, sales targets, KPIs and departmental profitability.
- Strong organisational and administration skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to prioritise and work effectively in a busy environment.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and improving processes.
- Good IT and systems skills.
- A strong commercial awareness and understanding of how an efficient parts department contributes to the wider business.
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
