About Next Tier Group
Next Tier Group brings together a growing group of customer-facing brands, including Benchmark Kennels, Dog Health, Eden Sheds and The Kennel Company.
Our ambition is to build trusted, industry-leading brands that raise standards, improve customer experience and deliver quality without compromise. We are building a group that is stronger together, with clear leadership, shared standards, better systems and a focus on sustainable growth.
This role will play an important part in helping us improve how sales, marketing, customer experience and selling platforms work together across the group.
About the role
We are looking for a strong Sales and Marketing Manager to lead our internal sales team across our brands.
This is a people-management and performance leadership role first. We are looking for someone who can lead through others, set clear standards, drive the right behaviours and create a sales environment where people know what good looks like.
You will be responsible for leading the sales team, improving sales performance, strengthening CRM discipline, supporting customer experience, overseeing marketing performance and ensuring our selling platforms are stable, visible and performing effectively. Support cover for the sales team will be needed to be provided during peak season and annual leave.
This is not a hands-on marketing delivery role. Day-to-day marketing activity will be delivered by internal support, external agencies or wider business partners. Your role is to make sure sales and marketing are joined up, performance is visible, agreed actions are followed through and activity supports sales outcomes.
What you’ll be responsible for is Sales leadership and team performance
You will lead, manage and develop the internal sales team, ensuring enquiries are handled properly, quotes are followed up consistently and customers receive a professional experience from first contact through to order.
You will create a clear sales rhythm, including daily stand-ups, regular 1:1s, team reviews, coaching and clear expectations around behaviours, activity and results.
This role is about improving performance through people. You will support the team where needed, but your main responsibility is to make sure the team works properly, standards are maintained and issues are not allowed to drift.
CRM, pipeline and sales process
You will ensure all leads, quotes, orders and customer activity are logged, tracked and followed up accurately through the CRM.
You will use sales data to understand performance, identify gaps and make sure the right actions are being taken. This includes visibility of enquiry volumes, quote progress, conversion rates, follow-up activity and sales performance across the brands.
Selling platform stability and performance
Our sales team will manage the agreed day-to-day activity across our selling platforms, including checking orders, enquiries, customer messages, alerts, reviews, listings and agreed platform controls.
Your role will be to own the management rhythm around these platforms. This means ensuring checks happen, issues are visible, risks are escalated, actions are followed through and platform performance is reviewed regularly.
This may include platforms such as Shopify, Amazon, eBay, websites, marketplaces, resellers and other sales channels.
You are not expected to become the technical fixer. You are expected to make sure the right people are doing the right things, problems are not missed and the business has clear visibility of platform performance.
Marketing, agency and online performance
You will work with internal stakeholders and external marketing partners to ensure marketing activity supports sales performance, customer demand and brand growth across our B2C channels.
You will need a good working understanding of B2C marketing, especially where customers research, compare and buy online. This includes website performance, online presence, social media visibility, digital advertising, PPC, customer reviews, product positioning, lead quality, enquiry generation and conversion.
You will not be expected to personally deliver all marketing activity, but you must be able to challenge, guide and hold marketing partners accountable. You will review whether campaigns are generating the right type of enquiries, whether websites and selling platforms support the customer journey, and whether marketing activity helps the sales team convert more effectively.
Sales and marketing planning
You will provide practical input into sales and marketing planning across the brands, helping ensure activity is focused on the right customers, products, channels and opportunities.
This will include feeding into campaign priorities, seasonal sales focus, promotional activity, product positioning, customer messaging, lead quality, conversion opportunities and sales team focus areas.
You will not be expected to create the sales and marketing strategy, but you will be expected to help turn business priorities into clear actions for the sales team, marketing partners and relevant internal stakeholders.
A key part of the role will be making sure agreed sales and marketing actions are completed, reviewed and improved.
Customer service and communication
You will promote a customer-first culture across the sales team, ensuring communication is professional, timely and consistent.
You will support the team with escalated customer queries, complaints, reviews and feedback, making sure issues are dealt with properly and lessons are fed back into the business.
NPS, Trustpilot, Google reviews and other customer feedback will be important measures of how well we are serving customers and protecting our brands.

- Work with marketing partners to review activity, challenge performance and improve lead quality.
