Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Ductwork Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for ductwork projects, ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Duties
- Analyse project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to determine scope of work
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for ductwork installation, including materials, labour, and equipment
- Collaborate with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to gather pricing information and optimise costs
- Review and update estimates throughout the bidding process to reflect changes or new information
- Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and proposals
- Monitor project budgets during execution to ensure costs remain within approved limits
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards
- Maintain organised records of all estimates, quotations, and related documentation for future reference
Experience
- Proven experience as a Ductwork Estimator or in a similar role within the HVAC or construction industry
- Strong understanding of ductwork systems, materials, and installation processes
- Demonstrable ability in cost control and budget management
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications effectively
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and team members
- Prior experience working on commercial or industrial projects is desirable
