The Healthcare AI Support Worker will work under the supervision of the Skin Cancer Nurse Specialists and Dermatology Consultant Team. They will play a vital role in enhancing patient care and streamlining clinical processes within the dermatology pathway.
Responsibilities include pre-screening the Urgent Suspected Cancer (USC) proforma submitted by GPs to ensure eligibility, contacting patients to verify details through a three-point identity check using the Electronic Referral System (ERS), and applying service screening criteria to exclude lesions unsuitable for clinic booking.
The role also involves capturing and uploading high-quality images to the Skin Analytics AI platform, maintaining accurate records across systems before and after clinics, and providing direct support to patients during their appointments.

Patient Care Responsibilities
1. Pre-screening: Review of Urgent Suspected Cancer (USC) proformas submitted by GPs to confirm eligibility for AI Clinic
2. Patient Verification: Contact patients and complete a three-point identity check using the Electronic Referral System (ERS).
3. Screening Criteria: Apply service-specific screening questions to identify and exclude lesions unsuitable for clinic booking, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines.
4. Image Capture & Upload: Take high-quality photographs of lesions and upload them to the Skin Analytics AI platform for analysis.
5. System Updates: Maintain accurate records across relevant systems before and after clinic appointments, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
6. Clinic Support: Provide assistance to patients during their clinic visits, ensuring comfort and clear communication throughout the process
The Trust’s services are provided from three locations:
- The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 473 general and acute beds.
- Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 60 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility.
- Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.
