ELC Electrical, the electrical division of Edinburgh Landlord Certificates, is looking for an experienced electrician to join our growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrician who wants a well-paid, varied role with a company vehicle, consistent work throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians, and the opportunity to earn additional income through overtime and commission.
We are looking for an electrician who is confident working independently and can carry out EICRs, diagnose faults and complete associated remedial works to a high standard.

The role
You will work primarily across Edinburgh and the Lothians carrying out electrical inspection, testing, installation and remedial works.
Your day-to-day work will include:
- Carrying out EICRs in domestic and rental properties
- Completing associated electrical remedial works
- Electrical fault finding and diagnosis
- Consumer unit replacements and upgrades
- Domestic electrical installations and alterations
- Domestic rewiring
- Landlord electrical compliance works
- Smoke and heat alarm installation and testing
- Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)
- Other electrical and property-related works as required
- Completing digital reports and certificates using a company-provided tablet
- Communicating directly with customers, landlords, letting agents and tenants
- Representing ELC Electrical and Edinburgh Landlord Certificates professionally at customer properties
The role is varied, and you will work across a wide range of properties and electrical installations.
About you
We are looking for an experienced electrician who is confident working independently and takes pride in the standard of their work.
You should be:
- A fully qualified electrician with at least 3 years' post-qualification experience
- Experienced in carrying out EICRs independently
- Confident with electrical fault finding and diagnosis
- Experienced carrying out remedial electrical works
- Experienced with consumer unit replacements/upgrades
- Experienced with domestic electrical installations
- Comfortable working in occupied properties and dealing directly with customers and tenants
- Reliable, organised and punctual
- Professional and polite
- Comfortable using smartphones/tablets and completing digital reports
- Able to manage your own workload and work without constant supervision
- Willing to represent the company professionally at all times
Essential qualifications
- NVQ Level 3
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- 2391 Inspection & Testing
- Full UK manual driving licence held for at least 12 months, subject to insurance requirements
- Maximum of 6 points on your licence
Desirable experience
Experience in the following would be advantageous:
- PAT testing
- Domestic smoke and heat alarm systems
- Landlord electrical compliance
- Property maintenance
- Emergency lighting
- Fault finding
- Domestic rewiring
- Sales/customer-facing work

ELC Electrical is our dedicated electrical division, providing electrical inspections, testing, remedial works, installations and rewiring throughout Edinburgh and the Lothians.
