We're looking for a Female Support Worker to join a friendly, dedicated team providing one-to-one support for a woman living with a spinal cord injury in the Southampton area.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support her independence, provide high-quality personal care, and assist with everyday living, helping her to live a fulfilling life in the comfort of her own home.
She shares her home with a friendly dog and two cats, so you'll need to be comfortable around pets. Please also note that the client smokes, so applicants must be comfortable working in a smoking environment.
Please note: This role involves regular overnight waking shifts, so applicants must be able to work nights.

Roles Available
- 24 hours - Alternate weeks Friday & Sunday
Shift Patterns
- Waking Night Shifts: 20:00-08:00
Pay Rates
- £15.00 per hour weekday waking night rate
- £16.00 per hour weekend waking night rate
- £1.00 per hour less during probationary period
Role Responsibilities
- Providing personal care
- Supporting with daily living tasks and household duties
- Assisting with community outings
Ideal Candidate
Essential:
- A positive and proactive approach
- A full, clean driving licence and willingness to drive the client's adapted vehicle
- Flexible and reliable
- Comfortable around pets and smoking
Preferred:
- Previous care experience
- Previous experience of complex care and/or spinal cord injuries

JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Purpose: To support your client with their day-to-day living, promoting their independence and supporting them to live a fulfilled life ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
Internal and Management: This role will report to the Registered Manager
Key Duties/Responsibilities of our Support Worker:
Supporting your client to safely lead a fulfilling and more independent life by:
- Provide practical support for your client and their family, such as helping with personal care, household tasks and paperwork
- Assist and encourage your client to engage in everyday home, social, leisure and work activities, according to the individual's choice
- Support and monitor your client's healthcare needs, including administering medication and other clinical tasks
- Help your clients to access community facilities and be included in community groups, if they so wish
- Understand their communication needs and adapt your own communication style accordingly
- Keep accurate, up to date records of all the care you provide
- Work positively with other professionals, such as doctors and therapists, to ensure consistency of support
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
- Participate in learning and development opportunities as required
