About the Role
At Worksop Tarmacadam, every project begins with our estimating team. As the first point of contact for many of our customers, you'll play a vital role in creating an outstanding first impression of the business. We're looking for someone who understands that great customer service is just as important as producing accurate quotations. This role is an addition into our team reflecting the continued growth of the business and our commitment to maintaining the highest levels of service to our customers.
You'll manage customer enquiries from initial contact through to quotation, contract award and handover to our operations team. While you'll receive training and support in our systems, products and estimating processes, you'll also be expected to work independently, manage your own workload and become a key member of the team.
This role is ideal for someone with construction industry experience who is ready to develop their commercial and estimating skills within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to customer enquiries by telephone and email.
- Carry out site visits, surveys and measurements.
- Prepare quotations with support where required.
- Develop your knowledge of bituminous materials, surfacing techniques and civil engineering works.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers and site teams.
- Manage quotation revisions and customer requests.
- Attend site and pre-start meetings.
- Support project handovers to the operations team.
- Build long-term relationships with customers.
- Deliver a five-star customer experience from initial enquiry through to project completion.
About You
We're looking for someone who already has experience within the construction industry and is ready to progress into an estimating role.
You will have:
- Experience working within construction, surfacing, highways or civil engineering.
- Knowledge of asphalt surfacing, bituminous materials or civil engineering
- A good understanding of how construction projects are planned and delivered.
- A good understanding of site measurements, levels and preparation requirements, with the ability and willingness to develop these skills further.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Confidence working independently and managing your own workload.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.
- A full UK driving licence.
Previous estimating experience is not essential. We will provide training in our estimating processes, systems, bituminous materials and surfacing techniques. However, we're looking for someone who already has a solid foundation within the construction industry and is ready to take the next step in their career.
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
