Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Senior Residential Child Care Worker to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to children and young people in a residential setting. In this vital role, you will lead and supervise a team of care workers, ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of the young residents. You will be responsible for implementing care plans, maintaining clear communication with colleagues and families, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of care workers, providing guidance, mentorship, and leadership to ensure high-quality care delivery.
- Develop, review, and implement individualized care plans tailored to each child's needs, promoting their emotional, social, and developmental growth.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all residents by maintaining vigilant supervision and responding promptly to any concerns or incidents.
- Foster positive relationships with children through effective communication, active listening, and empathetic engagement.
- Coordinate activities, outings, and educational opportunities that enhance residents’ life skills and confidence.
- Maintain accurate documentation of daily routines, incident reports, progress notes, and care plan updates using IT systems efficiently.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, therapists, and families to support each child's overall development.
- Drive continuous improvement by participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and quality assurance processes.
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a children's home or residential setting focused on senior care or child welfare.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
- Experience in developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with children, families, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Valid driving license with the ability to operate vehicles for outings or appointments as required.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures, health & safety regulations, and relevant legislation governing residential childcare.
- Competent in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes.
- Level 3 in residential childcare or equivilent
