Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Accounts Administrator to join our growing chartered accountancy practice in Chandlers Ford specialising in the micro-SME market.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in accounting and previous experience working in similar sized accountancy practices.
This role offers a broad and practical training experience to join our team of 10. Suited to someone looking to gain exposure across all departments and the opportunity to complete their professional qualifications should they wish.
Duties
- Data entry and bookkeeping.
- Preparing VAT returns and submissions.
- Annual Accounts preparation for Sole Traders & Ltd Co’s.
- MTD compliance reporting.
- HMRC tax registrations and agent authorisations.
- Client onboarding and communications.
- Maintaining client records and managing daily post.
- Companies House submissions.
- Document e-approvals and portal uploads.
- Handling incoming calls and direct client queries as needed.

- Understand and experience a professional working environment and business operations.
- Build your understanding of client types and accounting services.
- Understand how bookkeeping and accounts come together using a range of cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks and Apron.

Essential requirements
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in accountancy.
- Strong attention to detail and good numerical ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable using IT systems and AI when appropriate.
- Previous experience within a similar sized practice.
Desirable requirements
- Familiarity with Teams, Outlook, Excel and Co-pilot.
- Knowledge of TaxCalc, QuickBooks, Xero, Apron.
